In order to improve the bearing capacity of the sidewall conveyor belt, the lateral bending deformation of the sidewall conveyor belt after loading is minimized, that is, improving the lateral rigidity of the sidewall conveyor belt is the key to reducing the lateral bearing deformation of the belt and increasing the bearing capacity of the belt.
The lateral rigidity value of the sidewall conveyor belt refers to the ratio of the weight of the belt under bending caused by the deadweight of the sidewall conveyor belt in the transverse vertical section of the belt body, at the two sides of the free support belt body, to the belt body width.
The technical standard requirement for the lateral rigidity value of high lateral rigidity sidewall conveyor belts is no more than 0.05. After the sidewall conveyor belt structure is optimized and improved, the lateral rigidity detection value is 0.036 after adding a lateral rigidity reinforcement layer. The lateral deformation of the belt body is reduced after bearing load, which can increase the bearing capacity by 15% to 20%.
An effective measure to improve the lateral rigidity of large heavy-duty sidewall conveyor belts is to set a special composite rubber layer of polyester short fibers that has been specially mixed and calendered between the multi-layer tensile body canvas layers of the flat base belt body, that is, the polyester short fibers are buried in the rubber layer in a single lateral direction of the belt body.
The use of this special composite rubber layer that enhances the lateral bending resistance of the sidewall conveyor belt body can increase the lateral rigidity value of the belt body by 2.5 times compared with the sidewall conveyor belt of ordinary structure, even if its lateral rigidity value is increased from 0.09 to 0.036.
These are all improvements in the formula of the sidewall conveyor belt. What can really increase the service life of the conveyor belt lies in the operator’s use of the conveyor belt. Unprofessional operation will greatly consume the service life of the conveyor belt.
